Richard George Mathieu

He cherished his family above all else and found his greatest joy in time spent with them. He valued establishing traditions and sharing meaningful moments together.

Richard is survived by his devoted wife of 59 years, Carol (Schweppe) Mathieu; his sons Richard Mathieu Jr. and wife Amy of Pittsburgh, PA and their daughters Kate and Emma; Patrick Mathieu and wife Chanda of Magnolia, TX, and their children Paige & Austin Porter and Cade; and Brian Mathieu and wife Linda of Reading, PA, and their children Morgan, Shane, and Andrew. He is also survived by his sister, Doris M. Mathieu of Pittsburgh, PA.

He was preceded in death by his brothers Alfred Joseph Mathieu and John “Jack” Mathieu.

Richard will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother whose presence brought warmth and steadiness to all who knew him. His legacy of love, loyalty, and family will continue to live on in the lives of those he leaves behind.

Richard has been a proud supporter of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in his memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
