Richard W. Severa, age 82 of Conroe, Texas, passed away on Monday, January 29, 2024. Richard was born in Corpus Christi, Texas on February 25, 1941 to parents Albert and Josephina (Janacek) Severa.
He attended school in Schulenburg, where he played football, and graduated in 1959. He volunteered for the Army and served in the photography department. After the Army stint, he went to plumbing school in Houston, where he worked as a construction plumber for 50 years, and then became an inspector for Harris County. He then retired to his Conroe residence, where he took a part-time job as a photographer for an oil company. Richard was a devoted member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Conroe. He is survived by his wife Anita, sons Brian and Scott, and his sister Barbara Hamontree of Schulenburg. He is preceded in death by his parents, and brothers Thomas, Leon, and Jerome Severa. Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, February 22, 9:00 AM, a Rosary at 9:30 AM, and Mass at 10:00 AM at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Chapel, in Conroe. An interment will be held Tuesday, February 27, 10:30 AM at the Houston National Cemetery.
