Sam “Sammy” Hugh Yoakum Jr. passed away June 7, 2015 in Conroe, Texas. He was born on May 22, 1932, in Crosby, Texas to Sam and Claudia Yoakum Sr. He was president of the Youth Rodeo Association when it was founded, and he was a member of the IDEW local 66. Sammy is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Larry W. Yoakum. He is survived by his loving wife, Linda “Janie” Yoakum, daughter, Becky Johnson and husband Troy, step daughter, Debbie Brown and husband Johnnie, sons, Scott Zenzen and wife Rachelle; Sammy Yoakum and wife Donna, sister, Deanna Blake and husband Shorty; special nephew, Billy Wayne Sides and wife Kathy. Numerous grandchildren, relatives and friends also survive. Memorial services will be held Friday, June 12, 2015 at 3:00pm in Cashner Colonial Chapel with Pastor Merle Blado officiating.
