

Sheryl was born on November 14, 1958 in Lafayette, Louisiana to William Martin "Bill" Steen and Barbara Ann (Foeh) Steen. She passed away peacefully in her sleep at home on December 15, 2025. Sheryl was a loving, devoted and delightful daughter and sister as well as a wonderful loyal friend to so many others, including her special close circle of lifetime "sisters and brothers." In the summer of 1963, she moved with her parents as they returned to make their permanent home in Conroe, Texas. She started her school days attending kindergarten at Sam Houston Elementary, followed by junior high school, then graduated as a member of the Conroe High School Class of 1977. Sheryl will always be dearly remembered and missed immensely by all who knew her and loved her.
Loving family: Mother, Barbara (Foeh) Steen; Brother, William "Martin" Steen II and Leisa DeCoster; Cole and Scarlett DeCoster and their daughter, Sterling; and Carson DeCoster. Family predeceased: her Father, William M. "Bill" Steen; Grandparents, Lester and Helen (Johnson) Steen; Fred and Emma (Sedlacek) Foeh. Others who mourn: her numerous friends and relatives.
Some of Sheryl's favorite pastimes were cooking, traveling, shopping, musical theater, and reading books. She loved Native American turquoise jewelry, stylish casual and dressy shoes, Mexican Talavera pottery items, and the music of Willie Nelson, George Strait, the Beatles, and Tom Petty. Sheryl loved cats and was passionate about rescue animals; she cared for many over the years. Also, Sheryl always had great respect and empathy for the varied Native American tribes in our nation.
Graveside Service and Interment: Saturday afternoon, January 10, 2026, 1:00 p.m., at the Conroe Memorial Park Cemetery, 1600 Porter Rd., Conroe, Texas.
