To the McDonald Family:

I know that each week will bring it's own series of difficult times, even after 7 1/2 yrs., there are days that are filled with wonderful memories of my dad and days that are filled with a selfish yearning for my dad to still be here.  So, it is my prayer that each week will continue to get a little easier and the memories that were created to carry you through the "tougher" days.  Like Jennifer, Steve was someone that I looked up to; a hero in his own right as a police officer for the big city of Houston, but a hero to me for the friendship he had with my dad. Yes, the love for his wife, children and family was very apparent and fortunately, did not go unnoticed in my eyes. Robert and I chuckled that he and my dad probably were already having a great time!  I love you guys!

We just found out today about your loss and were so sad to hear ... Steve was such a good person and will be greatly missed.  Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

My heart is so heavy after hearing of Steve's death. It was such an honor to know Steve and to be blessed to have him in my life. He was always like a hero to me growing up and I never outgrew that adoration. He was a great freind to my dad and such a great role model for the Saddle Rock kids. His love for you, Nicky, was always so apparent and the example that the two of you set for having a happy marriage did not go unnoticed. I always felt a special connection to Steve because of our shared passion for horses. I know that he is one of the main reasons that my dad relented and allowed me to have horses and Steve was so influencial in my early days in the show pen. He always knew how to boost your confidence but also give guidance to help you improve. The world is a better place because of Steve's influence, but I know that he was greeted in heaven with a "well done my good servant!" and that gives me great comfort! Love you all, and I am send a big hug your way!

I just wanted you to know how sorry we all are for your loss and that you and your family are in our prayers.  I had the great oppertunity to attend today's service and if nothing ells has that should have shown the outpouring of love that occurred today should confirm Steve blessed the lives around him.  I could not even reach the guest book to sign in!!  I was surpised that many of my coworkers were also acquaintances of Seves and were truly touched by the sorrow of his passing.  I don't know if you are aware of how truly far reaching the love of your family spreads and it is my hope that that love is a comfort to you through this difficult time.

I am very deeply saddened to hear this about Steve.  He was one of my dear friends.  We worked together at Gullo Ford.  He still came and saw me everytime he had oil changes on his truck.  I will miss him deeply.  He was a wonderful person.

I wanted to let the McDonald family how much I am sorry for their loss.  You are in our constant prayers and thoughts at this time.

  I will really miss Steve and Craig picking at each other and each one never giving into the other.  It was always a treat to listen to those two go at it .I only met Steve a few years ago but I always enjoyed visiting with him and listening to him brag on his Kids and Grand Kids about  the special things that each one of them had either accomplished or was about to partake in.  Although he was taken from us early, God has a plan for him and I'm sure he's  (Steve) getting things straightened out for the rest of us before we join him.  Great Guy and I will miss him dearly. This isn't Good Bye just so long for now.  Rest well my Friend.
