Steven was a licensed Land Surveyor since the early 1990's who loved the outdoors, and time spent with family and friends, especially barbecues. In his early years he liked carpentry and even built a couple of rowboats and a sailboat along with several furniture pieces.
With his dry sense of humor, he was a hard man to get to know. but those that did know him, loved him. And he was very generous man who would do anything for family, friends and strangers alike. In his latter years he became a gun collector and liked target practice.
He even took time and enjoyed coloring with his granddaughters. Steve was also an avid reader who enjoyed mysteries and westerns with some crime-drama thrown in. He was well loved and will be greatly missed by many.
Steve was preceded in death by his father, Charles Boris Laughlin, his mother, Virginia Eiliene (Funk) Laughlin, his brother, James Robert Laughlin, his brother, Joseph Charles Laughlin, and a sister, Dixie Ann (Garrison) Laughlin. Steve is survived by wife, Brenda Elizabeth (Hellman) Laughlin, daughter, Shannon Kelly Laughlin, son, Charles Robert Laughlin, and sister Dorophine Ellen (Braden) Laughlin, along with two young granddaughters.
