Terry Stuart Williams, age 77, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on June 20, 2018. His passing came after a brief illness. Terry was born to Anna and Douglas Williams and raised in West University Place in Houston, Texas. Later he moved to Spring Branch where he graduated from Spring Branch High School in 1959. He attended South Texas College and the University of Houston. After college he worked at Engineers and Fabricators Company for 18 years. The rest of his career was spent at Belin and Associates. He was a project manager at April Sound and Bentwater. Terry married his high school sweetheart, Kathleen Simmons, in 1961, and they had a loving marriage for over 57 years. Terry cherished his children, grandchildren and his little dachshund Carly. Many affectionately called him a gentle giant because of his kindness and easy going temperament. He was an avid outdoorsman and a skilled marksman. He won many shooting competitions and enjoyed deer hunting with his son, father, brother and nephews. He especially enjoyed hunting in the Texas Hill Country, Colorado and Wyoming. He was a lover of nature and especially the Rocky Mountains. He traveled the United States extensively from coast to coast. Terry loved building things and was an accomplished carpenter. Terry was proud to be a seventh generation Texan and a Charter Member of the Lone Star Chapter of the Sons of the Republic of Texas in Montgomery County. He and his siblings still own property purchased by his ancestors in San Jacinto County in 1837. Terry loved the Lord and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Conroe for over 40 years. He is predeceased by his daughter-in-law Ellen Joa Williams and step-grandson Samuel Johnson. He is survived by his wife Kathy; son Brent, and daughter Shannan and her husband Rusty Smith; grandsons Patrick and Will Smith; brother Doug Williams, and sisters Mary Ann Belin and Cheryl Garner; along with numerous nieces and nephews. His family and friends will miss him dearly. A celebration of life will be held on Monday, June 25, 2018 at 2pm at First Baptist Church, 600 North Main Street, Conroe, Texas 77301. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Conroe for the Mission or Wreaths Across America in memory of Terry.
