Theresa was born in Willis, Texas on August 20th, 1944 to Tony and Lucy Goodney She had two brothers, William and Floyd, that predeceased her. The family of her Aunt Mary Wagner, and her three children Phillip, Dorothy (deceased) and Tommy were raised so very close together, they were considered siblings.
Theresa’s son Andy passed away in 2019.
Theresa is survived by her husband of 54 years, Willie Hoffart, son Jim Butz and wife Christina, and grandchildren Kinley Butz, Gus Sons, Jr., and Danielle Sons. Numerous nieces and nephews are also left to cherish her memory as well as her special friend Mario Cruz.
Theresa was raised on a farm and liked to work outside with plants and gardens. Willie always said she was a natural born “picker”. It didn’t make any difference if it was cotton, corn, potatoes, okra, water, melons, tomatoes, pecans, squash, peanuts, beans, or peas. She would not hesitate to join in. She spent most of her life as a homemaker, but she worked 20 years at Gulf Coast Trades Center.
A visitation for Theresa will be held Thursday, October 2, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Metcalf Funeral Directors, 1801 E White Oak Terrace, Conroe, Texas. A funeral mass will occur Friday, October 3, 2025 at 10:30 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 109 North Frazier Street, Conroe, Texas. A graveside committal service will occur Friday, October 3, 2025 at Shepard Hill Cemetery, Willis, Texas. Those serving as pallbearer are Billy Baker, Dennis Ivy, Tommy Wagner, James Hignett, James Jordan and Bill Harrison. Honorary Pallbearers: Paul Hoffart, Herbert Melton, Tommy Gregory and Jarrien Losack.
