Thomas B. Tencer, age 89, of Humble, Texas passed away on Saturday, July 10, 2021 surrounded by family. Thomas was born March 23, 1932 in Georges Township, Pennsylvania to Joseph M. and Mary V. Stossel Tencer.
Thomas was active in the United States Air Force from August 1949 to December 1952. He then worked for Texas Eastern Natural Gas Pipeline Co. in Pennsylvania, Louisiana and Texas, retiring after 36 years.
Thomas and his wife were members of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Conroe, Texas and active with St. Vincent De Paul. Thomas had a strong love of family and faith, and enjoyed bowling, technology and desserts. He was a great problem solver, very knowledgeable in communications and computers, and enjoyed building, inventing, and constructing things with his hands.
Thomas is survived by his wife of 63 years Betty Lou Storrs Tencer, children Gregory Tencer and wife Venessa, Phillip Tencer and wife Lisa, Timothy Tencer and wife Marie, Douglas Tencer and wife Aurora, Katrina Thornhill and husband Michael, and Wayne Tencer and wife Susan. 19 living grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, other family members, and a host of friends are also left to treasure his memory.
A rosary followed by a funeral mass will be held for Thomas on Thursday, July 29, 2021 at 9:45 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 109 N. Frazier St, Conroe, Texas 77301. Following the funeral mass will be a reception for family and friends in the John Paul II center adjacent to the church. After the reception, Interment will be at 1:45 PM at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr., Houston, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to be made in Thomas’ name with St. Vincent De Paul at Sacred Heart Catholic Church or to a charity of your choice.
