Verna Maybell Darden Stratton

Funeral services for Verna Stratton, age 97, of Willis will be held on Thursday, April 8, 2010 at 12:30 p.m. in Cashner Colonial Chapel with Reverends Dowen Johnson and Charles Wiggley officiating. Interment will follow in Garden Park Cemetery.

Verna was born February 13, 1913 in Cardwell, Missouri and passed away on April 6, 2010 in Silsbee, Texas. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of over 75 years, Paul Stratton, and her parents, William J. and Ettie Mae Pipkin Darden. She is survived by her sons, Bobby G. Stratton and wife Judith of Sulphur, Louisiana and James Stratton and wife Kathy of Houston; daughter, Sue Colton and husband Charles (Buddy) of Kountze; grandchildren, Michael Colton and wife Felecia of Kountze, Suzanne Prine and husband Earnest of Magnolia, Mississippi, David Colton and wife Janine of Kountze, Paul Colton and wife Penny of Kountze, Sabrina Ashworth and husband Lee of Winnie, Kyle Stratton and wife Tina of Beaumont, Michelle Bobo and husband Dan of Sugar Land, Beth Stratton of Bayou Vista and Rob Stratton of Houston; great grandchildren, Heather Sharkey of Roseland, Louisiana, Carley Colton of Houston and Alexander, Jessica, Caitlin, Dallas, Caleb and Seth Colton, all of Kountze, Barclay and Andrew Stratton of Houston, Arianna and Anastasia Ashworth both of Winnie and Ally Bobo of Sugar Land; and three great-great grandchildren.
