

William (Bill) was preceded in death by his mother, Thelma (Bashaw) Cogar, his father, Orville Cogar, his sister Karen Beck, his brother Pug Cogar.
He is survived by his wife, Maureen, all his children and their spouses, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and family members. His children being: Gail Nash, Dale Francisco, Melanie Griswold, Michelle Pattison, Julie Reintges, Susan Cogar-Daniels, and Michael Cogar. He is survived by his brother John Cogar and wife Pat, and his sister Tina Roberts.
Bill is a veteran of the Vietnam War, for which he received numerous awards for his service. He served honorably in the U.S. Navy for twenty-three years, achieving the rank of Retired Senior Chief (RMCS), and earned the Navy Achievement Award.
Bill will be remembered fondly as a man whose service to his country was the cornerstone of his life’s creed. He was well liked by all who met him; was known for his generous heart and his steadfastness.
The family requests donations be made to the Disabled American Veterans in lieu of flowers. Bill will be going to retire with a military funeral at Sylvan Abbey 2853 Sunset Point Road Clearwater, Florida.
