

ANTOINE VANEL GAY, RN, 85 of Margate died Friday, March 31, 2017. He was born and raised in Port-Au-Prince, Haiti. He emigrated to the United States in 1950. He served in the Army in the medical corp for 2 years and the army reserve for 2 years. He enjoyed soccer and was an excellent billiards player. He was one of the first African Americans to be promoted to a supervisory role at a New York Stock Exchange Clearing House in the 1960’s. He later became a Registered Nurse having matriculated from the Brooklyn Jewish Hospital Nursing Program in 1975 and worked for many years at University Hospital in Tamarac, Fl. After retiring from nursing, he earned his real estate license. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years Colette, son G. Mantovani (Beverly) Gay, MD., grandchildren Reese(Jamie) Burke, Joseph Gay and Dominique Gay, great grandchild Ronin Burke, brothers Daniel Gay and Serge (Louise) Gay, sister Andre Gay along with several loving nieces and nephews. Friends may gather at the KRAEER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION CENTER 1 N. State Road #7, Margate Florida on Saturday April 8, 2017 from 9 to 11 A.M., Funeral Services will be at 11 A.M. Followed by entombment at Queen of Heaven Mausoleum, North Lauderdale, Florida.
