We send our deepest condolences. Your father was an outstanding man.  I know he appreciated the dedication you showed toward him.  He was very proud of all that you achieved.  I'll always remember him with a bright, sly smile (captured in his obituary photo). We will miss him.

Words can not express the emptiness , I have in my heart. As a children we formed a bond that cant be broken even thru death. As painful as it is to write this , I know that you are watching down on all of us. Your generous sprint and upbeat personality and lust for life will never be forgotten. We will be re-united in the gates of heaven. I am so proud of the job you did with my nephews you raised 3 responsible human beings. As my partner and best friend  I say farewell as goodbye well  never be because when I close my eyes I see you and  know you are with me as my protector as you always are.

I'm very grateful to have had the chance to meet Ernie, who even in declining health struggled to connect to those around him, and radiated warmth and good humor. Most of all he seemed so focused on, and fond of, his sons. Thinking of all of you! Much love, Kate

Dave and Jim and family...so sorry....hope you can find comfort remembering the good times you shared with your dad.  He had a great sense of humor!

Ernie, you said your father put up a good fight, and that is no surprise because he was the man who defended his home and family with a broken wine bottle. That story you told at a Residents' Breakfast gave me a mental image as to what a great man he was. Thankfully, you and your brothers were able to be with him and say goodbye.
