Beatrice J Santoro (nee Macisco) of Tamarac, Florida passed away on Thursday July 11, 2019. Beatrice (Bea) was born on April 7, 1931 in Stratford, Connecticut to John and Emma Macisco. She was the eldest of 3 children, sister Mary (deceased) and brother John. Bea was the wife of the late Joseph (Joe) Santoro to whom she was married for 68 years. She has 4 children, Diane, Donna, Joseph, and John (deceased), 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother John Macisco. Bea was a homemaker for many years raising her children in Orangeburg, New York. She went back to work as a nurse's aide at Ingleside Nursing Home in Old Tappan, New Jersey and worked there until she moved to Florida.
Bea loved to follow all sports particularly football, baseball, and track and field. She decorated her home with memorabilia from The New York Giants and New York Yankees. Bea loved to attend track and field events such as the Millrose Games, Penn Relays as well as following her son Joe's track events in High School. Always the sports fan. For many years Bea along with her husband Joe were very active in their parish All Saints Church in Sunrise Florida, working at shows and fund raising events. One thing that Bea loved to do was crochet blankets and give them to the homeless in New York City. A memorial gathering will be held at Kraeer Funeral Home at 1655 University Drive, Coral Springs Florida on Wednesday, July 17, 2019 from 11:30-12:30pm with a service at 12:30pm. She will be buried alongside her husband (Korean War Vet) at the South Florida National Cemetery in Lake Worth, Florida. Bea always thought of others and made time to let them know via cards, letters and calls that she was thinking of them. She will be truly be missed by all.
