Dorothy Dot / Dotty Jane Kelly Walsh

WALSH, DOROTHY JANE, 87, of Plantation, passed away July 21, 2011. She was born February 26, 1924 in New York, NY to the late Joseph and Cecile (Murphy) Kelly. She met her husband of 61 years, Thomas at a church drama club after WW II. They moved to Florida in 1972 and during their marriage developed a love of cruising, having been on 60 cruises. Her passion were her children, grandchildren and family. Dorothy was predeceased by her son, Joseph in 2007 and husband, Thomas in 2008. Those left to cherish her memory are her loving children, Thomas (Marla) Walsh, Brian (Carol) Walsh, James Walsh, Kevin Walsh, Mary (Richard) Perkins, daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Walsh, grandchildren, Katya, Noreen, Erin, Brian, Bridget, Siobhan, Kevin, Katlyn, Thomas, Chelsea, Kelly, Leeann, Emily, great grandchildren, Aidan, Gavin, Skylar, Reis, Nevaeh. Her brother, Joseph (Marian) Kelly and sister, Maureen (William) O'Leary also survive her. The family will receive friends on Monday, July 25, 2011, 5:00 - 9:00pm at Kraeer Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 1655 University Drive, Coral Springs. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 1401 Coral Ridge Drive, Coral Springs. Interment to follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, North Lauderdale, In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to St. Judes Children's Research Hospital, 5201 Blue Lagoon Drive, #650, Miami, FL 33126. Thomas and Dorothy had a storybook romance and now the "Prettiest Girl in Valley Stream" is reunited with the love of her life.
