

He joined the U.S. Marine Corp in 1955 and served honorably and proudly until 1963 as an Aviation Mechanic. He met the love of his life, Barbara Ann Kelley and married on January 13th, 1961. He then worked for Pepsi Cola as a distributor. George enjoyed boating, fishing, and visiting the Islands on Lake Erie with his family and friends.
In 1973 he and his wife Barb, bought the Worthington Motel on Fort Lauderdale beach. He owned and managed for 27 years, until building their dream home in 2000, in Coral Springs, FL. Together they enjoyed cruising on the Caribbean and traveling to Las Vegas for fun and games.
He is survived by his daughters, Cheryl Lynn Gendics of Fort Lauderdale, FL and Christine Ann (Jack) Schechter, grandchildren Jonathan “J.C.”, Joseph “Joey”, and Sarah Schechter of Naples, FL. Brothers Lawrence (Rowena) Gendics of La Grange, OH, Martin (Jeanne) Gendics of Vermillion, OH. Sisters Shirley Molnar of Vermillion, OH, Sandy (John) Herchler of Vermillion, OH, Judy (Joe) Roth of Medina, OH, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years Barbara Ann Gendics, his infant daughter Constance Gendics, parents George and Barbara Gendics Sr., and sister Barbara Smith.
A memorial service and celebration of his life will be held April 25th at 3:00PM at Kraeer Funeral Home located at 1655 N University Drive, Coral Springs, FL 33071.
