 You are thought of and remembered for the kind loving man that you were.. I hope that you are  feeling carefree & peaceful.. and I hope you are with your love.

Don was my very first friend from Taravella High School. My family had been transferred to Florida where my father had accepted a new job and I was super nervous starting a new school. Don and I sat next to one another in drafting class and we became good friends in a very short time. We had a lot of the same interests and the friendship developed naturally. We ended up getting hired at the same new Publix store as bag boys when we were both only 16. Basically our entire group of friends developed from there....with Don and I at the very beginning. I remember him being crazy smart, driven, and unconventional. He always marched to the beat of his own drum and was unapologetic on the same. I remember in high school he was the only 16 year old I knew who wasn't all that anxious to get his driver's license....when all the rest of us couldn't think of anything else. He was perfectly content hitching a ride with his friends... and all of us knew that if we were going anywhere, someone had to go pick up Don :) 

I lost touch with Don and his family a long time ago and it was only through a mutual friend, Rose, that I learned of his passing. To Mr & Mrs . McKay and Chrissy, and of course his daughters, my deepest condolences on Don's passing. Please know that Don was a friendly face to a scared 16 year old boy....and that he, basically by himself, made those first months in a brand new high school not only tolerable, but actually memorable and fun. I'm forever in his debt.

I first met Don and his sweet dog Echo in 2020 at a dog walk training group, organized by his friend Tom Savoca.  Don was just a warm, easy going guy and a pleasure to be around.  Later on I  met his sweet wonderful daughters. He told me they were involved in a church and I was glad to hear it.  They will need church family more than ever.
I will be praying for them and the family over the coming days and beyond.

"The Lord bless you and keep  you; The Lord make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you; may the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace."


Don and I lived just around the corner from each other all through high school. I spent lots of time at his house, from car stereos, working together at Publix, and hanging out with friends. Brent, Bryan, Rose, Shelly, Dave, Keith, Scott, Ernest, Dan, and I'me sure I missed someone. We lost a good man, friend, father,  and son. 
Although I've been absent from communications with Don in recent years I often thought back to all the great times we shared growing up together.

Donald you Truly will be MISSED by Everyone!!!  When you joined our crazy family  EVERYONE  KEPT ON SAYING WHAT A WONDERFUL  PERSON YOU TRULY ARE.  My brother JIMMY always spoke highly of you and the smile on his face when you gave Mickey and him your 3 beautiful Grandchildren.  R.I.P.
