James La Rosa

James is survived by his five children, James, Gina, Jon, Salvatore, and Michaela, as well as his brother, Gasper. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Francesca, his parents, Anthony and Jean, and his sister, Sarah.

James, also known to most as Jim, and at times Jimmy, Big Jimmy, Uncle Jimmy, and most recently, Pop-Pop, was born on December 9, 1947, in Brooklyn, New York. On October 20, 1973, he married the love of his life, Francesca Carlisi. Two years later, they welcomed their first son, James, followed by Gina, Jon, Salvatore, and finally Michaela. Together, Fran and Jim raised their children to work hard, respect others, laugh a lot, and to always put family first.

Jim lived most of his professional life as an accomplished and talented Florist. He owned successful flower shops in both New York and Florida, and the incredible artistry of his designs was highly sought after and recognized across the floral community. An artist in the truest sense of the word, he was also a talented musician, singer, and illustrator, and took great pleasure doing all those things well into his later years, especially with his children and grandchildren. He also loved a round of golf or a trip to the fishing pier every chance he got.

More than anything, Jim loved his family. He kept in touch with everyone and was completely enamored with his seven grandchildren, Rocco, Mia, Ava, Gianna, Marco, Vienna, and Ian. He loved his Son-in-Law, Mark, and Daughters-in-Law, Sara, Cyndi, and Jacqui, and always thought of them as his own children. He was a simple man who preferred nothing more than sharing a meal and a laugh with those who loved him, and many did.

A wake service for James will be held Monday, March 14, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM. Following the wake service will be a visitation from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Kraeer Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 1655 University Drive, Coral Springs, FL 33071.
