Mr. Jeffrey Michael Arnold

Jeffrey Michael Arnold, known to his loved ones as “The Big A,” passed away peacefully on January 27, 2024, in Coral Springs, Florida at the age of 82. He was born on February 19, 1941, in St. Louis, Missouri.

Jeff was a golf lover and a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and uncle. He was also best friend to his beloved dog Bandit.

He is survived by his high school sweetheart and loving wife of 60 years, Janet Arnold, and their four daughters: Jill Spall (Ed) of Manassas, Virginia, Jennifer Arnold of Coral Springs, Florida, Jessica Dulkadir (Yilmaz) of Herndon, Virginia, and Julie Arnold (Chris) of Purcellville, Virginia.

Jeff was a cherished "Pop Pop" to his six beautiful grandchildren: Anna, Jack, Lucas, Olivia, Arnold, and Fidan. He also leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews.

Jeff was preceded in death by his father, Julius “Red” Lucas Arnold, his mother, Euline (Mabry) Arnold and grandson Leo Robert Miller.

Jeff attended Assumption High School and went on to earn his Bachelor degree as a proud “Fighting Illini” at the University of Illinois. After college graduation, he attended Officer Candidate School in Newport Rhode Island. He proudly served his country as a Lieutenant Commander in the US Navy as a Nuclear Weapons Training Instructor in Coronado, California. Jeff later earned his Master’s degree from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas.

Throughout his 35 year career in all phases of IT development , Jeff made significant contributions in his field as a chief systems architect.

In his free time, Jeff loved watching Virginia Tech “Hokie” football and enjoyed playing golf, a hobby that brought him great joy.

Jeff and Janet worshipped at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton in Coral Springs, Florida.

The family will hold a memorial service Saturday February 24 from 1-3 pm at Demaine Funeral Home – Fairfax, Virginia.

A private burial will take place at Arlington National Cemetery.
