

A lifelong resident of Staten Island, Joyce attended St. John Villa Academy and received her Bachelor's degree in Psychology and a Master's degree in Guidance and Counseling from the College of Staten Island. Her career with the New York City Department of Education included time as a Guidance Counselor and as a Special Education teacher.
In addition to her career with the NYC Department of Education, she was a partner in Flowers By Us with her brother Charles Mazzeo and friend Lillian LItrell.
Following her retirement from the NYC Department of Education, Joyce wintered in Florida. She was the ultimate hostess, preparing elaborate meals for family and a few lucky friends. Holidays and gatherings with Joyce were always very special. Her other varied interests included reading and current events.
She is survived by her brothers, Charles and Greg Mazzeo, two nieces, Cheryl Mazzeo and Carissa Jachcinski (nee Mazzeo), one nephew, Charles Mazzeo, Jr. and her great niece, Sloane Jachcinski.
In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital are appreciated.
