

Linda died peacefully at the home of her family in Pembroke Pines, Fl. at the age of 76 Thursday night, March 2, 2023.after a hard long battle with stage 4 lung cancer (2016)
Linda is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Alvarez (Greg),Grandson Matthew and her sister Catherine Kantor. Her stepchildren Laura Hanson (Randy and Grant), Jim Hensley (Nina, Ana and Felix) and extended family. Linda is preceded in death by her late husband George T. Hensley who passed away in 2013 in the state of Virginia.
Linda was born in Brownsville, Pa. to Catherine and Anthony Fusco. Linda grew up in North Miami and graduated from North Miami Senior High in 1964 and later went on to study Histology (1965) at Jackson Memorial Hospital where she worked until 1983. Linda was married to Dr. George T. Hensley in 1983 where they remained married until their passing. Linda and George retired to Virginia in 1994 until George passed, then she returned in 2014 to South Florida to be closer to family.
Linda was accomplished at many things and cooking and baking was at the top of that list. Her generosity, hospitality and giving way was what truly made her a special person and set her apart from people.She always seemed to be at her best when she was able to take care of whomever she was hosting. But what truly set her apart was her love and dedication to her family no matter where they may be, where her generosity had no boundaries. She also enjoyed volunteering at Pasadena Lakes elementary where she was known as reading grandma. She enjoyed traveling, gardening and hiking the Shenandoah park with her husband.
