Born on June 21, 1944, in Middletown, Connecticut, to John and Catherine Radziwon, Phil was raised with a deep devotion to family, community, and his Christian faith. He graduated from McArthur High School and proudly served four years in the United States Air Force. Following his honorable discharge, he earned an Associate Degree in Accounting and went on to serve as Controller for several companies. Through dedication, integrity, and professionalism, Phil built not only a successful career but also lasting relationships and a reputation for impeccable work ethics before retiring in 2012.
Above all else, Phil treasured his family. He is survived by his beloved wife of 25 years, Rita; his sons Brian (Peggy), Daryl (Leisly), Allan (Sonia), stepson Bill (Lucy), granddaughters Erin (John) and Megan, great-granddaughter Lily, and his brother John (Sharon). He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Catherine Radziwon, and first wife Chris.
Phil was a devoted member of Calvary Chapel Fort Lauderdale for more than 30 years. His commitment to spiritual growth extended into Bible Study Fellowship, where he participated faithfully for the past seven years, and into his involvement with the Celebrate Recovery group in Coral Springs. His faith was not merely something he professed—it was something he lived every day.
He served wholeheartedly in prison ministry, making regular visits to Conte Jail, Everglades Correctional Institution, and Florida State Prison in Stark. For 15 years, he also led weekly church services for the nursing home residents and staff of Margate Health Care Center, offering encouragement, prayer, and hope to all who gathered. Phil’s life was marked by quiet consistency, compassion, and a deep desire to share God’s love with others.
Previously, Phil was an active volunteer with Junior Achievement and also the children’s ministry and benevolence ministry at his church. His life’s mission was to share the Gospel and bring others to Christ.
Those who knew Phil will remember his kindness, humor, generosity, unwavering faith, and love for God, family, and friends. He had a special fondness for ice cream and proudly celebrated his June 21 birthday each year. Whether serving in ministry, volunteering, country dancing, skiing, golf, fishing with his sons, delighting others as a ventriloquist, or working out at the gym, Phil touched countless lives and leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion.
