Raymond Messier, 73, of Parkland, died peacefully surrounded by his family on March 6, 2020 after his heroic eight-month battle with cancer. Ray was born September 27, 1946 in Fall River, MA to the late Ernest and Marie Anne (Bourque) Messier. Ray loved his work; as the owner of Best Air Conditioning he never seriously considered retiring and was involved until the end. The only thing Ray loved more than work was his family, the Patriots and the Red Sox (not always in that order). He enjoyed golf, a nice cigar and good Bourbon with his friends. He and his wife loved adventures and traveled at every opportunity. Ray is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Laura, his six children, Christopher (Lynn) Messier, Raeann (Todd) Auton, Jenn (Eric) Mandelion Chrisman, Courtney Messier MacIntyre, Adam (Maria) Mandelion, Cassondra (John) Ferro, thirteen grandchildren, Nicholas (Jessica), Krista, Raegan, Madison, Faith, Connor, Ty, Cole, Camryn, Joseph, Jackson, Kylie, Gianna, two great grandchildren, Riley, Avery, brother, Roger (Barbara) Messier and nieces Barbi Messier, Wanda (Brett) Stephanow. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, March 12 at Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, 5980 University Drive, Parkland, FL 33067 followed by a private internment. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in Raymond’s memory to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (lls.org).
