Ruth Veronica Becker

Ruth Veronica Becker, beloved wife of Gerald Richard Becker entered into eternal rest on Monday, October 6, 2014. Ruth was born near Oneida, Iowa on December 2, 1923 to Genevive and Dee Ryan. Ruth was an elementary school teacher for 14 years in schools throughout Northeast Iowa. Ruth and her husband were engaged in farming in the Dundee, Iowa area for many years. In 1968 she re-located to Broward County where she and Gerald established a family plastering and stucco business from which they retired in 1988. Ruth was an active member of All Saints Lutheran Church and a past member of Church Council. She loved to read, travel and spend time with her family. She was an avid sports fan and dearly loved her Miami Heat, Dolphins and Marlins. Ruth is survived by her husband, Gerald to whom she would have been married 70 years on November 1st; Her children Shelia Smith (Eric), Billie Miller, Gerald (Gerry) Becker, Jr. (Linda), Sara Arrighi (David), Bonnie Pinkerton (John), Rick Becker (Sami), David Becker (Sandy), 23 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and her brother, Darwin D. Ryan. Ruth is predeceased by her son Michael, parents, a brother and two sisters. Celebration of Life Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at All Saints Lutheran Church in Tamarac, Florida. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Memorial Fund at All Saints Lutheran Church.
