I am a long time friend of Michael and met his father several times.  It was very apparent the immence love Sam had for his family.  May you all cherish his memory because that lasts  a lifetime.

My First Christmas in Heaven
I see the countless Christmas trees around the world below.
With tiny lights, like heaven's stars, reflecting on the snow.
The sight is so spectacular, please wipe away the tear.
For I am spending Christmas with Jesus Christ this year.
I hear the many Christmas songs that people hold so dear,
But sounds of music can't compare with the Christmas choir up here.
I have no words to tell you, the joy their voices bring,
For it's beyond description to hear the angels sing.
I know how much you miss me, I see the pain inside your heart.
But I am not that far away, we really aren't apart.
So be happy for me dear ones, you know I hold you dear.
And be glad I'm spending Christmas, with Jesus Christ this year.

Dear Toni & Family,  I am so sorry for your loss.  I met you and Sam when i was a kid in Buffalo.  I do remember how good looking Sam was!  I know from his niece Maggie that he was a lovely kind hearted person and an exceptional father.  My prayers and kind thoughts will be with you in this difficult time.  God Bless You.

Uncle Sam, 

I will never forget you and all the times we had together.  I was so blessed to have had an Uncle like you. You were like a father to me when I was younger and i will always remember the talks we had and the closeness we shared and how kind and loving you were. Even though we were miles apart through these recent years, we did get to see each other, but not enough. When we weren't together we talked on the phone, sent cards and wrote letters. I will always cherish the time we had together.

u were the reason why i loved coming down to florida. u made every visit so much fun! i was so lucky to be able to call u my grandpa a.k.a. POPPI :) u were my hero. i loved talking on the phone with you even if it was just asking how ur day was. u never made any conversation boring. you always taught me something and u will always be in my heart. even though you are not physically here anymore you are always in my heart and my thoughts. i will miss you so much. you have no idea. but i know u would want me to be strong right now, and im trying so hard. please keep us safe. i know you always will. i will see you sometime in the future. i love you so much poppi always and forever <3

I first met Sam when I first met Michael in 5th grade. Sam was a great dad and served as an example to all of us in the next generation of dads. He will be remembered and missed.

Mike, I'm very sorry for you and your families loss.  I regret that I didn't get to know your dad well, but I know he raised a great son so my hats off to him.  As his only son, I know you had a special relationship and you will miss him more than you can imagine.  Your dad was fortunate to have been married for 51 years, have 4 great children, and 9 grandchildren and I know he will live on in everyones memories. Dear Michael and Family,
I met your father/grandfather for the first time when I was in 5th or 6th grade. I was kind of a shy kid so meeting parents initially I did not consider to be fun. Mr. Thomas however made me feel completely welcome and comfortable.  He was willing to do whatever it was that needed to be done for us.  I think Mike and I were working on s school project, if memory serves.   Anyway I did not get to really know the man but I feel that my initial impression was pretty spot on of the man. Please accept Sue and my deepest condolences during this most difficult time.
