

Sik Kay Young is survived by his son Wai Ming Young of Lakeland, Florida and his daughter Isabella W. Kwong of Minneola, Florida and his sister Mrs. Pui Yuk Cheung of Los Angeles, California. He is the cherished grandfather of Paul and Karen Young, Peter and Susanna Young, Katherine and John Chen, Andrew and Daria Kwong and Jimmy and Ramona Kwong. He is also survived by 12 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his late wife Ying Kui Young, mother – Mrs. Kuk Fong Chin, Father – “Sam” Young, and son-in-law – Andrew C. Kwong.
Sik Kay Young was born on October 1, 1921 in Toisan, China to “Sam” Young and Kuk Fung Chin. He graduated from Toishing High School in 1937 with a high school diploma. He married Ying Kuk Moy in 1940. Sik Kay young is remembered as a kind, gentle, patient, and compassionate father, grandfather and great-grandfather who encouraged his family to pursue their passions in life.
Sik Kay Young was an accomplished as a culinary business entrepreneur and often taught others the culinary art of Chinese cuisine. He was a generous, witty and dedicated individual who loved cooking and being a businessman. He often mentored many in the Chinese community in South Florida in improving Chinese – American relationships.
The family would like to thank the caregivers of Compassionate Care Hospice and Mike Conley Hospice House of Clermont, FL for their efforts, care and dedication.
A visitation from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM at Kraeer Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 1655 University Drive, Coral Springs, FL 33071. Following the visitation a graveside service for Sik will be held Saturday, November 13, 2021 from 3:00 PM at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Cemetery, 1500 S. State Rd. 7, N. Lauderdale, FL 33068.
