Vera Victoria Gonzalez

Vera Victoria Gonzalez was born on July 25, 1942 to Crispulo Vargas Chacon and Angela Solano Mora in San Jose, Costa Rica.

After Vera graduated from Sacred Heart Academy in 1962 she went on to study English where she earned her bachelors degree, majoring in Education at Northeast Missouri State Teachers College in 1967.

In 1970, Vera Vargas met Jorge González at Omar Dengo High School. Their relationship wasn’t well received among both families. But their passion for each other did not allow that to hinder their true love. They got married October 20th, 1972. They went on to have two children, Ana Shaffer and Jorge Gonzalez Jr. In 1984 they decided to start a new chapter of their life, venturing into the United States. And like every newcomer they fulfilled their vision of their new journey.

Vera was predeceased by her father Crispulo Vargas, mother Angela Solano, brothers Alvaro Vargas, Felipe Vargas. She is survived by her husband Jorge González Sr, daughter Ana Shaffer, son Jorge González Jr, grandchildren Nicholas Shaffer, Kaylee González, Samantha González, Christian Shaffer and Brayden Shaffer, sisters Patricia Vargas de Vega, Angela Vargas de Brenes and brother Carlos Vargas.

Vera’s Celebration of life will be held at Kraeer Funeral Home in Coral Springs, FL on January 22 at 1 pm. In lieu of flowers, Vera’s wish was for her husband to been taken care off during these devastating times.
