Dear dad,  it's been over a year since you left us and went home to mom,  I miss you terribly  , but I'm sure your in a better place. I met Dad/ Vittorio in April of 1996.  I was then dating his son Tony.  Didn't know then that he would turn out to be my family, but he was so welcoming and made me feel comfortable right from the start.  He invited me to Sunday dinner, and that it where it all started.  He served meatballs & spaghetti. There were these things in the meatballs, which I proceeded to picked out. They were raisins. Tony would eat them so Dad never knew.  Then the next time I tried 'em, and to my surprise they were great. I just love 'em, and am proud to say that Dad DiStasio's tradition lives on forever more in our house. We never have meat balls without raisins! He was very knowledgeable, and always told the most wonderful & interesting stories. In May 2000 his son Tony & I were married. You never saw a more proud, happy and loving parent. He danced, sang and was the life of the party. On his many visits back to Brooklyn New York he met, and enjoyed a lot of great times with many of our close friends. So much so that each & every time he visited we all got together. His warmth, friendliness, and great love of life was contagious. I will treasure all our times together, and the memories we made. I prayed for Good Lord to end his suffering, and take him under his wing in heaven, where he could also be with Mom/Mary {the love of his life}. He was taken from us here on earth the very same day God had sent him. I believe it is so he could begin the second part of his journey on that special day. Dad you will be so very missed, but always in ours hearts. Love always your Christina

Dear family, 
We are very saddened to hear about your father. My Dad and I met your father years back at the mausoleum. He was visiting his beloved wife, and my Dad was visiting his beloved wife (and my mother). We then used to run into him many times there, and always were happy to see him and talk with him, and he and Dad could talk to each other about their wives. He was a true gentleman, and we missed him the past year or so that we didn't run into him. We are glad we had a chance to meet and know him. Our deepest sympathies to you all,

Dear Lucia and dear Anthony,
we are with you at this sad time . Uncle Vittorio was important in the life of us all, has made the small distance between the U.S. and Italy , always present with his phone calls full of affection. His connection with Italy was very strong as well as the one with the U.S. and he has always kept the family together , telling you and being interested of our problems and our joys . I have so many memories, all indelible , starting from the first time I met him in a crowded cable car station in Naples many years ago or I think back to the last time that he came to Italy , his joy in rediscovering Ischia and other places of his childhood. I remember also his passion for the soccer club of Naples and all his precious advice . I also remember when I met him in New York City, a great thrill. Uncle Vittorio had the sacred concept of family, and we must continue to maintain this subtle but very solid thread that unites us. We don't forget to view , he wont it . I'd be happy if we met in the short , perhaps to Naples, where you and your family will always be welcome guests .

For the short time that I have known Grandpa, he has been of one the most respecftul and caring men I have ever met. He had the ability to make anyone feel right at home from the moment he introduced himself to them. I always enjoyed our talks at the house, I will always be greatful for the time I spent with him. He was a man of class and he exited the Earth with class, he had his family with him until his final breath. May God bless your soul Vittorio, it is your time to rest.
