Anita Marion

Peacefully surrounded by family, Anita Marion (née St-Germain) passed away on May 21, 2023, at the age of 96. She has finally reunited with her beloved husband of 72 years, Gérald Emile, who pre-deceased her in 2018. Her family was her pride and joy: her children Lynda Greggain (Gilf ‘Lucky’), Marlene (deceased 1949), Jane McGregor, Carole Marion and Robert (Kathryn) Marion; her 8 grand-children Julie Walsh (Jason) of Casselman, Donny and Bryan Greggain (Angèle Blanchette), Michael McGregor, Genevieve (Darrin) Page (Calgary), Jeffrey Stinson (Coralee Dahl, Calgary), Richard Marion (Montreal) and Elise Marion (Toronto). Her nine great-grandchildren in Cornwall, Casselman, Calgary and Toronto cherished their ‘Mini-Mémère’.

The eldest of eight children, she was predeceased by her parents, Albert St-Germain and Alice Lamoureux, her brothers Bobby (deceased 1939), Ronald St-Germain (Thérèse), Maurice St-Germain (Monique), Roger St-Germain (Madeleine) and Jerry St-Germain, as well as her sisters, Jacqueline Johnston (Allan) and Marguerite Ménard (Roger).

A heartfelt thank you to Hospice Palliative Care, especially Dr. Poilly for her years of support and compassion, and the amazing staff of Cornwall Community Hospital – specifically JMP1 1700 Hallway Acute Medicine. The family is particularly grateful to PSW Natalie Denis, who cared for Mom with dignity during her years of home visits.

Funeral arrangements entrusted to Lahaie & Sullivan Cornwall Funeral Home – East Branch, 614 First Street E. (613-933-2841). Funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 3, in Paroisse Sainte-Thérèse-de-Lisieux Catholic Church, 1304 Lisieux Street at 10:00 am. The family will be receiving family and friends from 9 am until time of Funeral. An interment of cremated remains will follow at La Nativité Cemetery, 901 McConnell Avenue.
