John Duncan Chisholm

Our beloved Dad, John Duncan Chisholm, passed away peacefully early Christmas morning, at home and surrounded by his loving wife and children. Remembered by his brothers Peter (Brenda), Murd, Don, and Mac (Jean-Marc). He was predeceased by his parents, Carlyle and Theresa Chisholm (née Julien).

Dad will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by our mom, Bernice Chisholm (née Payette), his wife of 54 years, and by his children Andrew, David, Heather (Glenn Brown), and Julie (Herb Seguin). He was a much-loved grandpapa to Mackenzie Chisholm-Spires (Matthew Cook), and to Olivia and William Main, and a proud great-grandpapa to Cameron Cook.

Dad was a man of moral integrity and quiet strength — a man of few words but a big heart, good natured and positive. He loved gardening and spent countless happy hours outdoors, tending to his flowers, shrubs, and vegetables, which brought him great joy.

Dad enjoyed a long and dedicated career as a laboratory technologist, working in hematology at Hôtel-Dieu in Cornwall and later at CHEO, where he retired in 2001.

Easygoing by nature, Dad was a simple man with simple tastes: his family, his flowers, a sunny day, and a good Scotch. Feros Ferio. Thank you, Dad, for the life you gave us and the love you showed us every day. We will hold you in our hearts forever.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Canadian Blood Services at give.blood.ca or call 613-739-2339. A private service will be held for immediate family after the holidays. Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
