Arthur R. Morris

Arthur R. Morris, age 81 of Crown Point, passed away Sunday, May 13, 2012. He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Mary Lou (nee Atkinson); four children: Sue (Jim) Robisch, Nancy (Tom) Quill, Art Morris, and Dana (Dave) Phillips; four stepchildren: Shawn (Leritha) Pierce, Murray (Vanessa) Pierce, Scott (Colleen) Pierce, and Cary (Jill) Pierce; 15 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two brothers: Thomas "Tucker" (Dee) Morris and Jerry (Ann) Morris; aunt, Gloria Kerr; sister-in-law, Rachel Morris; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mr. Morris was preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his children, Agnes Gerka; parents: Thomas and Lyda Morris; brother, William "Rube" Morris; sister, Joan Morris Williams. Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 17, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Wayne Matulionis officiating at the Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 8178 Cline Ave. (1/2 mile south of U.S. 30), Schererville, IN. Interment will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Schererville. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Wednesday, May 16, 2012 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home. Mr. Morris was a member of Our Lady of Consolation Catholic Church in Merrillville. He retired from Inland Steel. Memorial contributions may be made in Arthur's loving memory to the ALS Association.
