Barbara Ann Hansen age 95, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 4, 2018. Barbara was born on March 26, 1923 in Pittsburgh, PA to the late Nicholas Volovic and Barbara Biser. On April 8, 1942 in Little Rock Arkansas she married the love of her life, Kenneth Hansen and together they raised 4 children. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth M. Hansen; three sisters, Catherine Crain, Anne Hall and Mary Baker and a very special aunt, Anne Camp. She is survived by her children, Chris J. (Cathy) Hansen, Ken (Dorothy) Hansen, Bob (Sue) Hansen and Carole (Tom) Gregory; 7 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren; sister, Dolores Symanski and brother, Walter Biser. Barbara was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will truly be missed by all whose lives she touched. She enjoyed sewing, cooking and baking for her family. Barbara also loved to host parties at her home for friends and family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, July 9, 2018 at 10:00 AM at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church 10701 Olcott Avenue St. John, IN. Interment to follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Crown Point, IN. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Monday morning from 9:00 AM until time of Mass at the church. Memorials may be made to the William J. Riley Residence c/o Hospice of the Calumet Area 600 Superior Avenue Munster, IN 46321.
