Carol A. Elman-Doll age 77, passed away on Wednesday, March 14, 2018. She is survived by her husband of 33 years, John R. Doll; children, John (Gina) Doll, Robert (Tammy) Doll, JoAnn (David) Roth and Julie (Derek) Poertner; 9 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren and many dear friends. Preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Anna Horney and grandson, Andrew Pachak. Carol was born on February 24, 1941 in Hammond, IN to the late Claude and Anna Horney. She was a graduate of Hammond High School. She attended Nursing School at Methodist Hospital in Gary, IN and was a Registered Nurse for 42 years retiring from Riverside Hospital in Kankakee, IL. On February 2, 1985, she married the love of her life, John Doll and together they shared four children. Carol and John enjoyed traveling all over the country visiting the Caribbean, her 'favorite place in the world'. She was an avid animal lover especially cats and horses. Carol loved her family's country roots. She was as comfortable in the show ring with her horse as she was at a downtown theatre. Jack and Carol were the best of friends...ever! Carol was a loving daughter, wife, mother and grandmother and will truly be missed by all whose lives she touched. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at 12:00 PM at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home (8178 Cline Avenue Crown Point, IN) with Rev. Mark Wilkins officiating. Private interment to follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Crown Point, IN. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Wednesday morning from 10:00 AM until time of service at the funeral home.
