Cheryl J. Franks

Cheryl J. Franks (nee Relinski), age 74, of Apache Junction, AZ, passed away on the morning of Saturday, December 9, 2023. A native of Hammond, IN who relocated to Arizona in 2002, Cheryl is proceeded in death by her parents, Patsy Relinski (Lundquist) and Clarence Relinski. Cheryl leaves behind her beloved husband, Richard Franks; son, Rich Franks and his wife, Sharon Franks of West Lafayette, IN; her daughter, Holly Puorro and her husband Gus Puorro of Mesa, AZ; and grandchildren, Rich Franks, John Franks, Thomas Franks and Clara Puorro. She was also a beloved aunt and sister.

Cheryl graduated from Morton HS in 1968 and married her beloved husband, Richard, shortly after on July 6, 1968. She raised their two children in St. John, IN and spent many years working at Community Hospital in Munster as a billing specialist prior to moving to Arizona.

There was nothing she enjoyed more than cooking and spending time with her family. She was well-known for her meatballs, coleslaw and especially her Kolaczkis. She was always willing to open her home for a holiday get-together, regardless if you had two people or 30 in your family. She was always welcoming to her kids' friends, even if it meant having to double the Christmas baking.

Cheryl will be greatly missed by her family.

A Celebration Gathering of family and friends will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 8178 Cline Avenue, Crown Point, IN 46307.
