Dennis Dwayne Horton

Dennis D. Horton passed away on November 19, 2025, leaving behind a lifetime of stories, laughter, and love. Dennis was born on February 19, 1961, in Chicago, where he later met the love of his life, Terri, in 1981. Together, they built their life and raised their family in Northwest Indiana, creating decades of loyal partnership and cherished memories.

If you knew Dennis, you knew he loved to enjoy life. He was happiest surrounded by family and friends, laughing, joking, and making sure every gathering turned into a good time. He enjoyed kicking back with a cold beer and celebrating with the people he cared about. Dennis lived honestly and fully, always staying true to who he was.

He had a passion for working on cars and tinkering in the garage—often with his kids “helping,” which usually meant holding the flashlight in completely the wrong direction. He took pride in teaching his kids how to do things the right way, and those moments—full of noise, learning, and unforgettable memories—became the stories his family will always cherish.

Above all, Dennis loved his family. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Terri; his sons, Shaun (Kayla) and Cory (Nicole); his daughters, Tina (John) and Tammy; and his cherished grandchildren, Nikki, Jay, Noah, Cole, Layla, Payton, Gavin, and Carter. He is also survived by his sister, Linda (Bob); and many nieces and nephews, who loved him dearly.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 29, 2025 at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 8178 Cline Avenue, Crown Point, IN 46307. Visitation will take place from 10:00 am to 1:30 pm, with the service and burial to follow.
