Detrus Ella Steinsultz Robinson

Detrus was born December 10, 1921 in Harrisburg, Illinois to the late Edward and Dusky Steinsultz (Abney). Her son Eugene Edward Robinson also preceded in death.

On October 4, 1944, she married her husband of seventy years, Carl Robinson, he survives. Also surviving are her children, Carl (Pamela) Robinson and Linda Quaife, daughter in laws, Penny and Teresa Robinson, grandchildren, Jeff (Michelle), Kelly (Ross), Shannon (Shane), Nate (Karen), Chad (Dionne), Amanda (Greg), Becky and Jessie, 14 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.

Mrs. Robinson was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother, and a long time member of Christian Reform Church in Hammond. She was the matriarch and caregiver to her family. She and her husband moved to Calumet Township in 1950 from Illinois where they raised their family. She was an avid Chicago Bulls fan, and self-proclaimed coach for the team.

Visitation will be Friday, November 21, 2014 from 4-8 pm at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home (8178 S. Cline Ave.; Schererville, Indiana 46375), and again from 12:00 noon until time of service at 1:00 pm on Saturday at the funeral home, with Rev. John Kostelyk officiating.
