Dianne D. O'Brien (Marino), age 76, of Valparaiso, IN passed away on Wednesday, May 31, 2023. Dianne leaves behind her husband, David L. O'Brien, 76, of Valparaiso, IN. Dianne and David were high school sweethearts and were married in Gary, IN at St. Mark's Church on January 21, 1967. Dianne and David were devoted to each other and spent 56 years together. Dianne retired as Area Supervisor with Vocational Rehabilitation Services, in which she was a counselor and worked with the disabled in the Porter County, IN area. Dianne was an avid knitter, sewer and reader. She was also an active member of Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Valparaiso, IN, in which she was a former CCD teacher and active in the Altar Rosary Society. She was a loving mother and grandmother.
Dianne was preceded in death by her parents, Victor Sr. and Josephine Marino; her brother, Victor, Jr. and Barbara Marino; sister, Paula and Bob Pell; and daughter, Erin Judith O'Brien.
Dianne is survived by her daughter, Christine (Joseph) Pytel; sons, Jonathan L. O'Brien and Joseph (Julie) O'Brien; her daughter, Angela (Peter) O'Brien-Goldsberry; and her brother, Michael (Jillian) Marino. She is also survived by her twelve grandchildren, Matthew and Benjamin Pytel; Erin O'Brien; Kerkland, Ethan, Devin, Gavin, Madison and Kahlin O'Brien; and Timothy, Sean and Cora Lyn Goldsberry. She also has one great-grandchild, Drake Joseph O'Brien.
A Memorial Visitation for Dianne will be held Friday, June 30, 2023 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Sorrows, 356 West 700 North, Valparaiso, IN, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM.
