Dorothy Matusz went to be with the Lord on August 25, 2020. She was born to Frank and Helen Ficht on November 14, 1933. She was a lifelong resident of the Calumet region born in Calumet City and spending the last 27 years in Crown Point, IN
Dorothy was a hard worker all her life and one who loved her independence. She was retired from the Calumet City Police Department where she worked for 25 years. She also remained close to a group of lifelong friends from St. Andrew School in Calumet City, where all the girls graduated over 70 years ago. She also her enjoyed her Chicago Cubs and could spend hours talking about them. If they had a bad game or someone wasn’t playing well, she made sure to let her son Craig know, always asking; ‘what’s wrong with him or why did he do that?’
Dorothy is survived by her son Craig (Jennifer) of Scottsdale, AZ along with 3 grandchildren; Taylor, Kyley (Kevin), and Tanner. She had one great grandson Camden.
Preceded in death by her son Chris and her sister Dolores.
