Edward Lawrence Eland age 98, peacefully passed away on Sunday, April 5, 2020 surrounded by his loving family.
He is survived by his daughters, Elayne E. Britton, Bettye (David) Noblet and Dawn (Greg) Farmer; stepchildren, Debbie (Kenneth) Thiel, Wilma (Dave) Young, David (Darlene) Kallas, Mary (late Neil) Bannister, Carol Hoyne;
25 grandchildren; many great grandchildren and some great, great grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his loving wife of 57 years, Ann Eland; 7 siblings; step-son, Adrian (Kay) Kallas and step-daughter, Beverly Edmonson.
Edward was born August 4, 1921 in Wallace Michigan, Mellen Township, to the late Martin and Ida Eland and was a 1940 graduate of Menominee High school. He proudly served our country in the US Navy during WWII from 1942 to 1947 as a Signalman Ist class. and was a member of the VFW Post 9982 Griffith, IN. Edward retired from the Post Tribune with 30 years of service as a printer (Linotype operator).
He enjoyed THE CUBS, fishing and being with his family.
Edward was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, great great grandfather and friend and will truly be missed by all whose lives he touched.

Due to the current conditions with the Covid-19, Edward will be laid to rest privately by his family at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Crown Point, IN.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date when all is safe and calm.
