Herbert S. Lorman, age 99, of La Porte, IN, passed away on April 5, 2026. Herbert was born to parents Steve and Celia Lorman on February 22, 1927, in Hammond, IN. He is survived by his sons, Douglas (Dani) Lorman and Ronald (Laura) Lorman; and brother, Kenneth Lorman. Herbert was preceded in death by his spouse of 74 years, Ruth; and son, David Lorman.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 8178 Cline Avenue, Crown Point, IN 46307, from 10:00 am until the time of the service at 11:00 am.
Herbert served in the U.S. Army during WWII, and belonged to VFW Post 1130 of La Porte. He worked at Cities Service Oil refinery for many years, and went on to retire from People's Energy of Elwood, IL. Herbert was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman.
