Jan M. Gardner

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Elaine Gardner; children, Michele (Keith) Hennig, Kathy (Mark) Bollinger, Jan Michael (Patrick McWilliams) Gardner and Brett Gardner; grandchildren, Laura (Kyle) Harker, Robyn (Matt) Pukoszek, Andrew Hennig and Nastia Bollinger; great granddaughter, Amelia June Harker.

Preceded in death by his parents and brother, Rollie Gardner.

Jan was born on December 14, 1941 in Hammond, IN to the late Michael and Jeanette Gardner and was a 1960 graduate of Hammond Tech. He retired from Inland Steel with 31 1/2 years of service. On October 30, 1963 he married the love of his life, Elaine Gerasin and together they raised 4 children. Jan enjoyed golfing and spending time at their home in Colorado. He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, brother in law, uncle and friend and will be truly missed by all whose lives he touched.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, March 30, 2018 at 10:00 AM at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home (8178 Cline Avenue Crown Point, IN) with Rev. Stephen Kosinski officiating.

Entombment to follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens Crown Point, IN.

Friends are invited to meet with the family on Thursday, March 29, 2018 from 4:00-8:00 PM and on Friday morning from 9:00 AM until time of service at the funeral home.
