He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Jamrus “Sam” Gannon. He is preceded in death by his son, John Austin; his parents, Muriel F. and John A. Gannon; sisters, Frances J. Pider and Linda L. Guhr (late Thomas); and brother, James P. Gannon (late Kristine). He was a fond uncle, great-uncle and friend to many. John was proudly retired from CSX Railroad.
A public visitation for John will be held Monday, January 10, 2022 from 3:00 PM to 6:30 PM at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 8178 Cline Avenue, Crown Point, IN 46307, followed by a funeral service from 6:30 PM to 7:00 PM.
John will be laid to rest in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL.
