Josephine Nowak

Josephine Nowak affectionately known as Grandma Jo age 92, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 8, 2018. She is survived by her children, Arlene (late John) Gamble, Edward (Honey) Nowak and Denise (Terry) Niksic; grandchildren, Erica Gambino, Tammy (Eric) DeLau, Jeremy (Katie) Niksic, Derek (Sarah) Lane, Andy Nowak, Ben Nowak, Blanca Biones and Adrian Rodriguez; great grandchildren, Sophia, Luke, Brady, Leo, Justin, Lily, Charlotte and Lou; siblings, Carolyn Goenenwien, Shirley (Dalton) Moore and David (Fern) Dyke and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her former husband, Robert Nowak. Jo was born on September 14, 1925 in Camargo, IL to the late Charles and Amanda Dyke. She was a graduate of Villa Grove High School. Jo retired from the Kickert Bus Lines with 33 years of service. She enjoyed bowling and her 'Cubbies' but mostly she enjoyed spending time with her family. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, April 13, 2018 at 10:00 AM at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home (8178 Cline Avenue Crown Point, IN) with Pastor James Williams officiating. Interment to follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Crown Point, IN Friends are invited to meet with the family on Thursday, April 12, 2018 from 4:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home.
