Judie L Reck Schmidt

Judie L. Schmidt, age 73, of Schererville, Indiana, passed away peacefully at her residence, with her loving family at her side. Judie was born on November 22, 1940 in Chicago, Illinois to the late George Reck and Evelyn Daugherty. Her step father Donald Francis Daugherty, son David Schmidt, and a brother Ken (Betty) Bouxsein also preceded her in death. She is survived by her loving children, Larry (Nancy), Laura (Audie), Tom (Dena), and Bill (Kathy) Schmidt. Grandchildren, Joey, Keirri, Melissa, Ben, Melony, and Emily, brother Robert (Velma) Bouxsein, and her former spouse Don (Sue) Schmidt. Mrs. Schmidt managed various departments at the Schererville Walmart for 20 years, after 13 years of service at Zayre Department Store in Griffith. She was a faithful member of Tri-City Church of Christ. A Thorton Fractional North of Calumet City graduate of 1958, then attended Bloom College for 2 years in Chicago Heights. She was very active when raising her family, participating in their sports and school activities. Judie was a loving, dedicated and devoted Mom and will be truly missed. Funeral services will be Friday, July 4th, 2014 at 10:00 am at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home (8178 South Cline Ave.; Schererville, IN 46375) with Minister John Brewer officiating.
