

Crown Point, IN - Kathleen (Veith) Krizman, 96 years old, formerly of Hammond and Merrillville, passed away on Thursday, November 20, 2025. She is survived by her children, William (Rebecca Dowling, fiancé) Krizman of Crown Point, Mark (Debbie) Krizman of Indianapolis, and Jane (Thomas) Biedron of Chesterton; grandchildren, Steve Krizman, Kim (Krizman) Hoekstra, and Alexander (Kendall) Krizman; great-grandchildren, Lucas and Gage Hoekstra, and Jaydyn Krizman; relative/good friend, Judy Henry; and sister-in-law, Mary Lou Veith; along with several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Matthew Krizman; son, Paul Krizman; parents, Harry and Eleanor Veith; sister, Beverly (Veith) Skratsky; and brother, Harry Veith III.
Kathleen worked as a homemaker while her children grew up. She then went to work for the Hammond school system, working as a lunch lady (baker) at Caldwell, Orchard Drive and Scott elementary schools for 20+ years before retiring.
In her free time, she enjoyed baking (famous for her pumpkin roll), reading, coloring and doing jigsaw puzzles.
Kathleen was always doing things for others and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Visitation will be held Monday, November 24, 2025 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 8178 Cline Avenue, Crown Point, IN. A funeral mass will be held at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, November 25, 2025 at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church, 801 West 73rd Avenue, Merrillville, IN, to be followed by burial at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens.
