Kathleen Peifer

Kathleen Peifer, 74, of St. John, IN passed away on December 20th, 2021, at home following a courageous battle with lung cancer and pulmonary fibrosis. Kathleen was surrounded by her loving family and supported by her many friends and family throughout her final days.

Kathleen was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, aunt, and registered nurse (RN). She enjoyed dancing, music, cooking, Chicago Cubs baseball games, and spending time with family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Catherine Peacock; sister, Alice Hammel; brother, Jack Peacock; and former husband and father of her children, William Peifer.

She is survived by her four children, Natalie (George) Ayala, Vanessa (Ken Kiefor) Lea Peifer, Eric (Anna) Peifer, and Kirk (Jennifer) Peifer; sisters, Janice (Ray) Flanigan and Marilyn Plomann; brother, Clarence (Cindy) Peacock; and dear friend and companion, Charlie Dancer. “Grandma Pie” will be dearly missed by her grandchildren, Lillian, Gabriella, Jonah, Skyler, Will, Madelyn, and Nixon; nieces and nephews, her many friends, and fellow RNs.

Visitation will be held at St. Mary’s Church in Crown Point, IN from 9:00 - 10:00 AM on December 28th, 2021, immediately followed by a funeral mass at 10:00 AM with burial at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens in Crown Point, IN.
