

LeRoy is survived by his love of the last 40 years, Mamie Nowakowski; sons, Stanley (Sherry) Nowakowski and Bill Nowakowski; daughters, Rosa Holman and Lisa (Josh) James; sister, Shirley Piejko and brother, Norman (Joan) Nowakowski and many loving grandkids, nieces, nephews and friends.
LeRoy was preceded in death by parents, Eleanor Lawler (nee Dutkowski) and Stanley Nowakowski; son, Eric Dax Bishop; sister, Laverne Straley; brother Frank Lawler, and brother-in-law Frank Piejko.
LeRoy was born on September 7, 1939 in Chicago, IL to the late Stanley and Eleanor Nowakowski.
He retired from Ford Motor Company in 1995 with over 30 years of service. He was skilled in many trades over his 81 years, including cabinet making, auto body repair, being a great cook, and passing his knowledge on to his grandkids.
LeRoy loved playing guitars, riding his motorcycles, and many other things but most of all he loved being with his family.
LeRoy was a loving son, brother, uncle, husband, father, grandfather and friend and will truly be missed by all whose lives he touched.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home (8178 Cline Avenue Crown Point, IN) with Pastor Ron Lundy officiating.
Interment to follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Crown Point, IN.
Friends are invited to meet with family on Monday, November 30, 2020 from 3:00-7:00 PM at the funeral home.
