Madonna K. Munsie

Madonna K. Munsie, age 73, of Hammond, IN passed away peacefully, March 14, 2015 at her residence with her loving family at her side. Donna was born November 20, 1941 in Lawrenceville, IL to the late Elmer Hayes and Irene (Cummins) Bean. Also preceding her in death are her husband of 51 years, Stanley Merrill Munsie; her son Jeff (April) Munsie; sisters: Beverly Marek, and Bertie (Bud) Munsie; and a brother Ronnie O'Dea. Left to cherish her memory are her children: Robert (Donna) Munsie, Darla (Ed) Jimenez, Stanley "Sam" (Amy) Munsie; eight grandchildren: Kristie (Steve) Chicki, Samantha (Alex) Ordonez, Amber "Nikki" (Joseph) Ameling, Jessica and Dylan Munsie, Ashley Markowski, Jacob and Sarah Munsie; four great grandchildren: Brandon, Ava, Kaiden, and Drake; sisters: Mary Sarter, Sheila (Larry) Minton and Kathy (Frank) Dunlap; brothers: Jerry (Carol) Hayes, and Jimmy (Jackie) O'Dea. Mrs. Munsie was a crossing guard for the city of Hammond for many years. She was a loving and devoted mother and caregiver to many generations of her family. She was a faithful member of Life Point Church of Hessville, member the Ladies Auxiliaries' of the Moose Lodge of Schererville, American Legion and VFW of Griffith. Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home (8178 South Cline Ave. Schererville, IN 46375). Visitation will be Tuesday, March 17, 2015 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home. Burial will be in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens.
