Marla Rene Grothaus, age 75, of Gary, passed away peacefully on August 8, 2016 with her loving husband of 34 years at her side. Marla was born November 7, 1941 in Gary, Indiana to the late Leonard and Ida (Briesacher) Burklow. Also preceding her in death is her sister, Noreen Stooksbury. Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Ralph Grothaus; children, Alden Feeler, Denise (Steve) Schiller, Scott (Sarah) Feeler, and Daniele Brown; 17 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; sisters, Idora Kissel and Leonore (Rollin) Gronendyke; and best friend, Betty Fite and Jolly. Marla was a member of Ross Baptist Church. She had a deep faith, and walked with the Lord as a child of God. She was a hairdresser and stylist for over 50 years at various local salons.
