Patricia June (Valenti) Zapinski, age 96, of Highland, Indiana was born on June 24, 1926 and passed away on Monday, November 21, 2022. Patricia was born in Morgantown, West Virginia to Rose Valenti and Pasquale (Pat) Valenti.
Patricia graduated from Gary Edison High School and attended Gary City College where she met her future husband Edward T. Zapinski. She worked as a Secretary at Gary Edison High School and retired Secretary from the Gary Career Center. She was Gary Edison's first female drum major. She was an avid bowler, seamstress, and cook. She will always be remembered for hosting large holiday dinner parties. During her spare time, she enjoyed vacations with her Michigan and West Virginia family.
Patricia was preceded in death by her husband, of 65 years, Edward T. Zapinski, Jr.; her father Pasquale (Pat) Valenti and her mother Rose Valenti.
Patricia is survived by her sons Thomas Zapinski (Sau) and Terry Zapinski (Cheryl); her daughters Trish Dal Santo (Jim) and Nancy Jaeger; her granddaughters Dr. Jennifer Zamora (Alex); Dr. Dawn Zapinski (Tony Adams); Rachel Pitt; her grandsons John Zapinski (Jennifer), Terry Zapinski, Jr., James Zapinski, Dominic Dal Santo (Amanda), Daniel Dal Santo, and T.J. Jaeger (Amanda Duvall); her great granddaughters, Renee Zapinski (Sam Winnenberg), Alyssa Strickland (Sebastian), Lauren Zapinski, Camryn Zapinski, Sarah Pruzin, Aliyah Saliek, Allie Zamora, Harlee Pitt, Isabella Zamora; her great grandsons, Evan Pruzin, and Colton Pitt; her great great grandson, August Strickland; her sister-in-law Virginia Such.
A public visitation for Patricia will be held Saturday, November 26, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 8178 Cline Avenue, Crown Point, Indiana 46307. followed by a funeral service from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Patricia will be laid to rest at 2:00 PM at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens.
Patricia will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother and GiGi. The Zapinski Family would like to thank The William J. Riley Memorial Residence, Area Hospice of Calumet for their kindness and caring of mom.
